Terms of Use

Below are our terms of use which are in place to regulate the use of the Site. Please ensure that you use the Site according to these terms.

1. INTRODUCTION

1.1 This page describes the terms and conditions (“Conditions of Use“) that govern your use of all LightHub website(s) (which includes any website including lighthub.law in the url), including products, services and subscriptions to LightHub platforms, publications, web conferences, and the like (collectively the “Site“). These Conditions of Use apply to you no matter how you access the Site.

2. GENERAL

2.1 By choosing to use the Site, you agree to abide by all of the terms and conditions of these Conditions of Use between you and LightHub.

2.2 We may change, add or remove portions of these Conditions of Use at any time, which shall become effective immediately upon posting. It is your responsibility to review these Conditions of Use before each use of the Site, and by continuing to use this Site, you agree to any changes.

3. CONTENT ON THE SITE AND IN PUBLICATIONS

3.1 The contents of the Site are intended for use in the ordinary course of your organisation’s business. All materials published on the Site (including, but not limited to text, photographs, images, illustrations, audio clips and video clips, also known as the “Content“) are protected by copyright and owned or controlled by LightHub or the party credited as the provider of the Content. You shall abide by all additional copyright notices, information, or restrictions in any Content accessed through the Site.

3.2 You may download or copy the Content and other downloadable items displayed on the Site for use only as far as is compatible with its intended use and, provided that you
(a) maintain all copyright and other notices contained in said Content; and
(b) do not download, print, store or distribute Content on the Site which could be used as a substitute for any offering (or a substantial part of it) provided by LightHub or its affiliates.

3.3 The Site’s contents may contain links to third-party websites, resources, and advertisers (collectively, “Linked Content“). You understand and agree that LightHub does not control, endorse, sponsor, recommend or otherwise accept liability for any of this Linked Content. As such, we are not responsible for the availability of these outside resources or their contents, services or privacy practices. Accordingly, any concerns regarding any of this content should be directed to the appropriate site.

4. USER-GENERATED CONTENT, COMMENTS, AND SUBMISSIONS

4.1 You are solely responsible for the Content you submit to the Site. You shall not upload to, or distribute or otherwise publish to the Site, any libellous, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, abusive, or otherwise illegal material.

4.2 You agree that you will not threaten or verbally abuse other users of the Site, use defamatory language, or deliberately disrupt the Site, or use of the Site, for other users in any way.

4.3 You agree not to use language that abuses or discriminates based on race, religion, nationality, gender, sexual preference, age, region, disability, etc. Hate speech of any kind is grounds for immediate and permanent suspension of access to all or part of the Site.

4.4 While some Content and materials you submit via the Site may be confidential to your organisation and may be protected by intellectual property rights around the world, you acknowledge that any submissions you make to the Site (i.e., user-generated content including but not limited to: comments, messages, reviews, text, video, audio and photographs, as well as computer code and applications) (each, a “Submission“) may be edited, removed, modified, published, transmitted, and displayed by LightHub.

5. USE OF THE SITE; REGISTRATION AND SECURITY

5.1 You may not access parts of the Site to which you are not authorised.

5.2 The Site contains links to other related Internet sites and resources. Since LightHub is not responsible for the availability of these outside resources, or their contents, you should direct any concerns regarding any external link to such site.

5.3 As part of the registration or account creation process, you will create login credentials by selecting a password and providing a main user name, an organisation name, an email address and a phone number. You will also be able to create subusers under your account. You are not allowed to share your registration login credentials or give your login credentials to anyone else and shall ensure that your subusers do not share their login credentials with anyone else . You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and shall ensure that your subusers maintain the confidentiality of their passwords.

5.4 Please notify LightHub of any known or suspected unauthorised use(s) of your account or any known or suspected breach of security, including loss, theft, or unauthorised disclosure of your password or payment information.

5.5 You must be 18 years or older to subscribe to the Site.

5.6 You agree and understand that LightHub may collect your personal data per its Privacy Policy. For more information, please read the Privacy Policy.

6. REPRESENTATIONS AND INDEMNITIES AND WARRANTIES

6.1 LightHub does not represent or endorse the accuracy or reliability of any advice, opinion, statement, or other information displayed, uploaded, or distributed through the Site by any user, information provider or any other person or entity. You acknowledge that any reliance upon any such opinion, advice, statement, memorandum, or information shall be at your sole risk.

6.2 The Site is distributed on an “as is” basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including, without limitation, warranties of title or implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. You acknowledge that use of the Site is at your sole risk.

6.3 The Site may provide agreement examples, forms and other general legal information provided by LightHub or third parties; however, any general legal information or sample templates provided as part of the Site are for example purposes only, may not be suitable to your circumstances and is not a substitute for the advice of a lawyer or other appropriately qualified professional.

6.4 You agree to indemnify us against any damages, loss, liability, or expense of whatever nature which LightHub or any third party may suffer or arise as a result of your breach, whether directly or indirectly, of these Conditions of Use.

7. DISPUTES

7.1 In the event of a dispute or a complaint, you should first refer the matter to LightHub. You can lodge a dispute by contacting us at contact.us@lighthub.law.

7.2 You must ensure that you receive a reference number for your complaint as well as a formal acknowledgement notification.
